Fish Report October 13th – 21st

Here is the fish & bait report for October 13th -21st

BAIT – The bait supply was okay. Boats fishing live sardina are traveling sometimes to Cardonal and sometimes almost to the island and south around La Fortuna. There is still frozen squid supplied by Palmas de Cortez and East Cape Tackle. In addition to the sardina and squid, there are some caballito along with ballyhoo available. In fact, one day Carlos had the light on in the boat and live ballyhoo were literally jumping into the boat!

WATER – The water temps are dropping slightly but still near mid 80’s and the water color is a deep blue and super clean.

TUNA – The tuna bite is strong right now. Fish are between 20 – 50lb. Anglers are using live bait up north and others trolling cedar plugs under the porpoise.

DORADO – A good amount of dorado are still around and willing to eat.

ROOSTER – The rooster bite has slowed but they are still here.

BILL FISH – The bill fish bite has been okay. The Lynn Rose Tournament was this last weekend and several decent stripers were caught.

WAHOO – The wahoo are still around as well and willing to bite anything pink.  A hand full of wahoo are coming in each day for the anglers willing to target them.
