Fish Report July 9th – 15th

FISH REPORT – JULY 9TH – 15TH

BAIT – The bait supply has been really good and consistent. Sardina, ballyhoo, and caballito are all on the menu. We are still heading south to get bait in front of the La Ribera Marina.

WATER – The water temps are remaining consistent. Water from 77 to 83 is what we saw this week.

TUNA – The tuna bite has been a little off this week. Some fish are still being caught south of the light house and some under porpoise. The size is all over the board from 15lb to 60lb taken mostly on sardinas, hoohies, and cedar plugs. Capatin Carlos did boat 5 tuna yesterday from 20-30lbs.

DORADO – The dorados have began to show up a little more which is good news for next weeks Dorado Shootout. Fish are in the 20-25lb range mostly with a few bigger bulls mixed in and feeding on sardina and caballito.

ROOSTER – The rooster bite remains strong up and down the beach on slow trolled caballito. We landed a monster this week when an estimated 65-75lb class fish ate a slow trolled caballito. Unfortunately, the camera was not on the boat… lesson learned.

BILL FISH – The bill fish bite has been good as well. Blue marlin up to 300lb, strippers and sailfish are all on the chew now.

WAHOO – The wahoo are definitely here, getting them to bite is another story. Only a few are landed each day.
