CONDITIONS
The weather has been absolutely perfect again this week in the East Cape. The air temp is right around 80° and the water is 73°-75°. The water color is clear and blue. However, there were a couple days of wind which held the water temp from rising.
BAIT
We finally have quality sardinas available a 100yds south of the the hotel. I mean nice 3 to 4″ sardinas. I haven’t seen them this big in the 3 years I’ve lived here. Ballyhoo are also available in front of Palmas de Cortez Hotel.
ROOSTERS
More and more are continuing to arrive. The water is now at 75° and warming every day. As a result more and more roosters are being caught.
DORADO
The dorado bite is still not wide open yet. A few fish each day.
MARLIN
Several nice strippers were landed this week. The marlin bite was good last week. 1 to 3 fish per boat.
TUNA
Only 1 nice tuna taken last week. In the tuna’s absence, the African pompano bite remaided wide open last week. Fish up to 20lbs.
WAHOO
No wahoo taken last week. Captain Carlos had one to the boat, but didn’t convert. I love to hate these fish.
That’s a wrap on your Los Barriles Fishing Report
