CONDITIONS

Great weather again last week. The air temp ranges from the low 80’s to high 80s and the water is 75-76° and the water color is clear and blue.

BAIT

Ballyhoo, Sardina and Cabilito were available in front of Palmas de Cortez Hotel.

ROOSTERS

We had good rooster fishing last week. Some nicer models showing up in the mix. The water is now at 76° and warming every day. As a result we should see the rooster bite continue to improve.

DORADO

The dorado have also not shown in huge numbers yet. Still only a few fish being caught every day. However, there were a couple of big bulls taken last week.

MARLIN

The marlin bite is the best bite in town right now. 1 to 3 fish per day is normal.

TUNA

The reason for the delay in last weeks fish report is all the tunas fault. I heard there were some tuna caught on Sunday. So I wanted to see if Monday would be the same or possibly better. Well, it was very good tuna fishing for the 4 or 5 boats that ventured 30miles off the beach. All boats limited out on tuna from 10 to 30lbs.

The African pompano bite stayed strong last week. Fish up to 20lbs.

WAHOO

A couple more wahoo were caught this week. Hopefully more will arrive with the sea warming.

That’s a wrap on your Los Barriles Fishing Report
