Los Barriles Fishing Report
One Happy Fisherman

Here is your Los Barriles Fishing Report for March 4, 2020.

Los Barriles fishing has been fair to good this last week. Fist, the water is great for this time of year. 73-75, clean and blue off the beach when the wind lays down for more than a day. There are fish to be caught. The wind is still here but we have been successful catching fish when the wind lays down.

BAIT

Ballyhoo is the only bait available. It’s nice that its still right in front of the Palmas de Cortez hotel. There have been no signs of when the guys will start fishing for sardinas. But it shouldn’t be long now.

SIERRA

Have been biting pretty good as of late. Small lures have been the hot ticket. We are finding the sierra down near the marina in La Ribera.

DORADO

The dorado are still here. No really big fish have been caught lately, but we are still catching dorado.

CABRILLA

The Cabrilla bite has been very good lately using heavy jigs and fishing the bottom.

MARLIN

No reports of Marlin be caught. Marlin and Tuna are usually the first to arrive here in the East Cape.

YELLOWTAIL

No reports of Yellowtail this last week but there were some caught the week prior.

So there is your Los Barriles Fishing Report for the first week of March. Conditions change very rapidly down here. The next report could have marlin and tuna. Let’s hope! The fishing can be good or it can be better than being at work, if you know what I mean.

Lastly, if anyone is in the market for chartering a super cruiser, please take a look at my buddy Matt’s 35′ Cabo. She’s all set up and ready to go. Great crew and gear. Check out the El Regalo
