East Cape Fish Report Nov 5th – Nov 11th

Charter fishing in the East Cape was good again last week.

BAIT – The bait supply is okay. Boats fishing live sardina are traveling sometimes to Cardonal and sometimes almost to the island and south around La Fortuna. There is still frozen squid supplied by Palmas de Cortez and East Cape Tackle. In addition to the sardina and squid, there are some caballito as well.

WATER – Our water temps are still averaging 83/84 and the water color is clean and blue.  Once again the North winds stayed down and gave anglers the opportunity to get some fishing in. This week is shaping up to be another good week other than Monday and Tuesday.

TUNA – The tuna bite is still good. Fish are between 12 – 30 pounds and feeding on both squid and live bait. Most fish from Punto Pescadero and some under the porpoise.

DORADO – There is a good amount of dorado are still around and willing to eat if you know where to look. The dorado are feeding on both squid and sardina.

ROOSTER – There are roosters still around. No giants were caught this week. Most of the roosters are 5-10lbs.

BILL FISH – The bill fish bite was good agin this week.  Anglers are still catching mostly stripers. The blues taken this week included a couple 250lb models.

WAHOO – A few wahoo are still around and willing to bite.  Only a few wahoo were caught this past week for the anglers willing to target them.

SIERRA – I did hear of only one sierra being caught last week. This was probably due to a lack of anglers targeting them.

YELLOWTAIL  – Same as the sierra, no word of any yellowtail being caught this past week. There was a 15lb Milkfish caught and released.
