LOS BARRILES FISHING REPORT- 10/29, 2020

Angler Michael Castro with a nice Yellowfin
Angler Paul Netterville with a quality East Cape wahoo

Los Barriles fishing report is brought to you by OKUMA FISHING USA. Fishing has been great the past few weeks. First off the water is still 84-88 degree water. Nice and blue just off the beach. Air temp has finally changed and now in the high 80’s every day with moderate humidity.

BAIT

Ballyhoo is available in front of Palmas de Cortez Hotel and the sardinas are available to the North and smaller ones are available in the marina. Pretty much been the same program since the beginning of the season.

ROOSTERS

Next, the Pez Gallo (rooster fish) bite is slowing but there are some roosters still around if you are interested in fishing them. We hope to see the bigger models come back in April.

DORADO

The dorado have been biting well. There’s still a good amount of dorado in the area and if the past few years pattern remains the same, we will have dorado around through January.

MARLIN

The marlin bite continues to be go good right now.

TUNA

The tuna bite has been on fire the last few weeks. Most fish are between 15-60lbs and are chewing sardinas and chunked squid. Fish are being caught inside and outside under porpoise. Some of the larger models showed up near el Frailes near the beach.

WAHOO

Finally, the wahoo are still around. Just not a lot of people targeting them with the hot tuna and dorado bite. You don’t have to go very far to find a bite.

To sum it up, the fishing has been really good over the past couple of weeks. The air temp is about to drop back down and now is a great time to plan a trip to Los Barriles. Please visit us again for your Los Barriles fishing report.

Lastly, if anyone is in the market for chartering a super cruiser, please take a look at my buddy Matt’s 35′ Cabo. She’s all set up and ready to go. Great crew and gear. Check out the El Regalo
