Los Barriles Fishing Report – The opening week of fishing here in Los Barriles has been very good. Fist, the water is great for this time of year. 73-75, clean and blue off the beach when the wind lays down for more than a day. There are fish to be caught. The wind is still here but we have been successful catching fish when the wind lays down.
CONDITIONS
Fist, the water is very nice on the outside, clean and blue averaging 85° On the beach it’s still a little on the green side but improving everyday. We had a few days of afternoon breezes but no big blows.
BAIT
Sardinas are available to the North and Ballyhoo is available in front of the Palmas de Cortez Hotel.
TUNA
Have been biting good this week. Most tuna are located 25-40miles off the beach. The tune are biting hoochies, cedar plugs and slow trolled sardinas
DORADO
The dorado are showing up on the shark bouys and out in the clean water with the tuna. Not a big mass of fish yet, but it shouldn’t be long with the amount of bait in the water and the rising water temps.

The bottom fishing bite has been very good lately using heavy jigs and fishing the bottom.

The marlin bite has been good for anglers choosing to target them.
